This policy explains how AuPairsy handles illegal content notices, moderation decisions, and related redress.
1. Contact points
User contact point: support@aupairsy.com
Authority contact point under the Digital Services Act: dsa@aupairsy.com
Accepted languages: English and Estonian.
2. What can be reported
Anyone may report specific content that they believe is illegal, including:
- profile content;
- messages;
- reviews;
- photos;
- documents;
- offers;
- scams;
- exploitation or trafficking indicators;
- child-safety risks;
- unlawful discrimination;
- intellectual-property infringement;
- other illegal content.
3. How to submit a notice
Use the in-product report button or email dsa@aupairsy.com.
A notice should include:
- exact URL, profile ID, message ID, or other exact location of the content;
- explanation of why the content is alleged to be illegal;
- relevant law or category if known;
- screenshots or supporting evidence if useful;
- your name and email address, except where anonymity is legally protected for reports involving child sexual abuse or exploitation offences;
- this statement: “I have a good-faith belief that the information and allegations in this notice are accurate and complete.”
4. Confirmation
If you provide electronic contact details, AuPairsy will send confirmation of receipt without undue delay.
5. Review process
AuPairsy reviews notices in a timely, diligent, objective, and non-arbitrary manner.
AuPairsy may:
- remove content;
- disable access;
- restrict visibility;
- warn a User;
- suspend or terminate an account;
- reject the notice;
- ask for more information;
- preserve evidence;
- contact authorities where appropriate or required.
If automated tools are used, AuPairsy will disclose this where required.
6. Statement of reasons
Where required and where contact details are available, AuPairsy will provide affected Users with a statement of reasons for restrictions based on illegality or policy violations.
The statement may include:
- the action taken;
- the scope and duration;
- the facts and circumstances relied on;
- whether the action followed a notice or AuPairsy’s own review;
- whether automated means were used;
- the legal or policy basis;
- redress options.
AuPairsy may withhold details where disclosure would create safety risks, violate law, reveal confidential reporting methods, or interfere with investigations.
7. Appeals
Affected Users may appeal eligible moderation decisions by replying to the decision notice or contacting support@aupairsy.com.
Appeals should explain:
- the decision being appealed;
- why the decision is wrong;
- supporting evidence;
- requested outcome.
Appeals are reviewed by appropriately trained staff and not solely by automated means where required.
8. Misuse
AuPairsy may suspend Users who frequently submit manifestly illegal content after warning.
AuPairsy may suspend processing of notices or complaints from persons who frequently submit manifestly unfounded notices or complaints after warning.
AuPairsy assesses misuse case by case, considering number, proportion, gravity, consequences, intent, and prior behaviour.
9. Criminal offences and imminent harm
If AuPairsy becomes aware of information giving rise to suspicion that a serious criminal offence involving a threat to life or safety has taken place, is taking place, or is likely to take place, AuPairsy may notify competent law-enforcement or judicial authorities where required or appropriate.
10. Transparency
AuPairsy may publish transparency reports describing moderation, notice handling, and enforcement activity.
