This release adds practical tools for host families, plus interview planning for connected families and au pairs. You can use the blog and hosting budget planner before creating an account; saved searches, saved profiles and interviews require sign-in and the relevant account access.
Save a search once and return to it later
You can now keep up to ten named searches, each with its own filters and search text. This helps when you are considering different plans or want to pick up where you left off.
Where to start: open Search, set your criteria and choose Save this search. Give it a name you will recognise. Use the saved search to restore those criteria later.
Optional alerts: choose daily or weekly in-app alerts for newly matching profiles. Email is a separate opt-in. Profiles already matching when you save or change the criteria form your starting point, so saving a search does not immediately alert you about everyone already listed. To pause alerts, edit the search and choose Alerts paused.
Renaming a search or changing its alert settings keeps the saved criteria. To replace the criteria, set your new filters first and choose Use my current filters instead when editing. Deleting a search leaves your saved profiles and conversations available.
Compare two or three saved au pair profiles
Families can bring shared profile details together in one table, making it easier to remember practical differences before a conversation.
Where to start: save at least two au pair profiles, open Saved profiles, choose two or three people and compare them.
What to check: the details are self-reported. Not shared means a question is still open; it does not mean the person lacks a skill. The table does not choose a winner or establish eligibility. Use the shortlist guide to turn differences into useful follow-up questions.
Agree on an interview time together
Families and au pairs with an existing conversation can propose a time, accept or decline it, suggest another time, or cancel. The app distinguishes a proposal from a confirmed interview and shows each person the time in their device's time zone.
Where to start: use the interview option in your conversation or open Interviews. Select a conversation, choose a future time and duration, and add an optional agenda and HTTPS call link. A time becomes confirmed when the other person accepts.
What to check: agree on a video service yourselves; AuPairsy does not create a video room. After acceptance you can download a calendar file with a reminder. The file is a snapshot, so changes in AuPairsy do not automatically update your calendar. Suggesting another time replaces the previous arrangement and needs a new acceptance.
There are in-app reminders shortly before interviews. Interview emails follow your existing message-email preference. The app also prevents accepted interviews from overlapping for either participant.
Plan recurring costs and arrival expenses separately
The public budget planner helps you work out the cost of the whole stay using your own figures. It separates monthly costs from one-off expenses and includes an adjustable reserve.
Where to start: open Hosting budget, choose a currency and length of stay, then enter the costs you know. Unknown fields can stay empty. Use zero only after considering an item and expecting no cost.
What to check: the average monthly figure includes one-off costs and the reserve; actual payments may be concentrated around arrival. Changing the currency changes its label without converting the numbers. Your draft stays on the device you use. Print a copy if you want to discuss it or keep it elsewhere.
The planner calculates your inputs; check applicable requirements and actual prices separately. The budget guide includes a worked example and a payment-timing checklist.
Find help at each stage
The new blog covers deciding whether to host, writing a profile, budgeting, interviews, shortlisting and the first week at home. The AuPairsy team can edit articles, preview drafts and manage publication from the admin blog editor.
The current release number appears in the website footer. Select it to return to these notes and see what has changed.
Smaller changes that make everyday use easier
- On phones, the menu and search filters have clearer controls and larger tap areas. You can close the filters to return to results.
- If search fails to load, you see a retry option instead of a misleading empty-results message.
- The new forms explain invalid inputs and keep your entries available while you correct them. Confirmation steps help prevent accidental deletion, cancellation or budget resets.
- If a saved search or interview was changed in another session, the app asks you to reopen the latest version before saving over it.
- Account exports now include your saved searches and interviews you proposed.
