This policy explains the main parameters AuPairsy may use to rank, sort, recommend, or display profiles and other information.
1. Where ranking is used
Ranking may be used in:
- search results;
- profile recommendations;
- suggested matches;
- message suggestions;
- featured profiles;
- safety or trust sorting;
- country or availability lists.
2. Main parameters
AuPairsy may consider:
| Parameter | Why it matters |
|---|---|
| User-selected filters | Results should match the searcher’s stated preferences |
| Location and destination preferences | Users often search by country, region, or travel feasibility |
| Availability and start dates | Matches are more useful when timing aligns |
| Language compatibility | Communication and cultural exchange depend on language fit |
| Role compatibility | Au pair candidates and host families must match the intended arrangement |
| Profile completeness | Complete profiles are easier to evaluate |
| Activity and responsiveness | Active Users are more likely to respond |
| Safety and trust signals | Reports, verification status, blocked accounts, and policy history affect safety |
| Legal feasibility indicators | Visa/work-permit compatibility may affect whether a match is realistic |
| Subscription features | Paid plans may unlock visibility or contact features if clearly disclosed |
| User preferences | Users can influence ranking through filters and settings |
3. Relative importance
The most important parameters are usually:
- user-selected filters;
- location/destination and availability;
- role and language compatibility;
- profile completeness and responsiveness;
- safety/trust signals.
AuPairsy may adjust relative importance to improve relevance, safety, fraud prevention, or service quality.
4. Paid placement
If AuPairsy offers paid boosts, sponsored profiles, or paid priority placement, these must be clearly labelled.
If paid placement is not enabled, publish this sentence:
“AuPairsy does not currently allow Users to buy higher organic search ranking. Paid plans may unlock features, but they do not secretly change organic ranking.”
5. User controls
Users may influence results by changing:
- country and region filters;
- start date;
- language;
- role;
- availability;
- profile preferences;
- blocked users;
- visibility settings.
6. Sensitive data
AuPairsy does not rank Users for unlawful discrimination.
Some attributes, such as language, nationality, country of residence, visa eligibility, age, household composition, or childcare experience, may be relevant to au pair arrangements and may be used only where lawful, user-provided, and appropriate.
7. Safety overrides
AuPairsy may demote, hide, or restrict profiles for safety, fraud, legal, or platform-integrity reasons.
